Yesterday, Asdrubal Cabrera, 2B for the Cleveland Indians got an Unassisted Triple Play against the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 2 of a doubleheader. This is the 14th Unassisted Triple Play in the history of the MLB and 3rd in Indians’ history. This happened when Lyle Overbay lined out to him, then he touched second base, and lastly tagged Marco Scutaro in the 5th inning. The last time this happened was last year and it was done by Troy Tulowitzki in the NL. The last person in the AL to do it before him was Randy Velarde on the Athletics in 2000. Also in Game 1 Cabrera hit a Home Run and started the game-ending double play.
