Today, the Milwaukee Brewers gave ex-Rookie of the Year the biggest contract in their history. The Brewers gave him an 8-year deal worth $45 miilion. This runs through the 2015 season and replaces the 1-year 455,000 renewal contract the Brewers gave him at the beginning of spring training. He got NL Rookie of the Year by hittting .324 with 34 homers and 97 RBIs last season in 113 games after a May 25 callup. through Thursday, May 15, 2008 he is batting .287 with 9 homers and 29 RBIs.
