Atlanta Braves third baseman Chipper Jones hit his 400th home run in his career during Thursday’s 7-5 win over the Florida Marlins. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Jones turned on a Ricky Nolasco hanging slider and belted a solo home run over the wall in right field. That was his 14th home run of the 2008 season. The 36-year-old Jones has spent his entire professional career with the Braves. He became the third switch-hitter to reach 400 home runs, following Hall of Famers Mickey Mantle and Eddie Murray.
