On June 15th, Major League Baseball will again team up with the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) to increase awareness and early detection of prostate cancer this Father’s Day. In an effort to emphasize the impact of a disease that strikes one out of every six American men. The MLB will recognize those whose lives have been affected by prostate cancer and communicate invaluable health information regarding the disease.  On-field personnel including players, managers, coaches, trainers, umpires and groundskeepers, will wear blue wristbands, blue eye glare, and blue ribbon uniform decals symbolizing prostate cancer awareness. The blue ribbon logo will also appear on the bases, commemorative home plates and the official dugout lineup cards. Game-used bases, team-autographed commemorative home plates and lineup cards from each ballpark will be auctioned off at a later date to raise additional funds for PCF.

On Thursday Afternoon, the Atlanta Braves were playing the Chicago Cubs in Wrigley Field with Tim Hudson on the mound for the Braves. Tim Hudson allowed 1 earned run and 7 hits in 6 2/3 innings. He seemed to be growing tired in the 7th inning and when he left he game and was heading to the clubhouse, many of his body parts began to cramp. When the clubhouse was open to the media they told them that Hudson couldn’t speak because he was still in the Trainer’s room with an IV giving him fluids. The braves said he was just battling dehydration and that he was probably going to accompany them on the flight to Anaheim.
